ASA Awards of Excellence judging panel – expressions of interest The ASA is inviting expressions of interest from members wishing to be represented on our ASA Awards of Excellence judging panel. The role of the ASA Awards of Excellence judging panel is to: · Support the objectives of the ASA Awards of Excellence program · Review nominations for all the ASA Awards of Excellence · Determine all finalists and recipients in a credible process that ensures results are above censure · Review and make recommendations regarding the selection criteria

Rural and Remote Sonographer Scholarship 2011 – Applications close 8 October Now more than ever, the ASA recognises the challenges associated with living and working in rural and remote areas including limited access to workshops and conferences resulting in fewer opportunities to stay up to date with current advancements and techniques in sonography. The ASA Rural and Remote Sonographer Scholarship is offered to support the education needs of ASA members working in rural areas.
The Scholarship provides registration for ASA2011 Brisbane and includes travel and accommodation expenses associated with attending the conference, the opportunity to publish your work in soundeffects and the opportunity to present at ASA2011 Brisbane.
Who should apply? The successful applicant must be a financial Ordinary or Student member of the ASA, living in Australia but more than 100km from a major capital city and have conducted a research project or identified a case to investigate.

As the peak body and leading voice for sonographers, this designation also serves as a powerful statement to peers, employers, regulators and patients about your commitment to clinical and professional excellence.

Travelling Workshops 2010/11 - dates for your diary The 2010/11 Travelling Workshop series promotes best practice in sonography by providing continuing education and a forum for communication to members in regional locations. Designed and presented by sonographers, these interactive workshops cater for those living in small cities as well as rural locations across Australia and New Zealand.
