The Competency Framework for Sonographers – Last chance for feedback

The ASA thanks all those sonographers who have submitted comments on the consultation draft of The Competency Framework for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers – your input is most valuable. We did however receive requests for extension to the original deadline and therefore welcome further feedback submitted on or before Friday 25 June. Printed copies are available on request – enquiries should be addressed to Elaine Trevaskis – CEO or p: 03 9585 2996.

SIG2010 Sydney – 21-22 August 2010

Tailored to suit sonographers specialising in women’s imaging and musculoskeletal sonography, this year’s annual Special Interest Group seminar returns to the popular two-day format. Mark these dates in your diary and review the preliminary information available now on the ASA website. The finishing touches are being put to the education program, which will include the popular Management and Communication workshops - held at ASA2010 Melbourne - on Friday 20 August.

ASA2010 Melbourne highlights

Over 1300 delegates attended a hugely successful ASA2010 Melbourne. The three days featured seven concurrent sessions including four streams of workshops and three streams of plenary sessions plus Cardiac Day on Saturday, that’s more than 150 presentations. With around one third of Australia’s sonographers in attendance and over 30,000 CPD points accumulated over three days, ASA2010 Melbourne was celebrated as the largest educational and networking experience for sonographers in Australia.

Many new innovations were incorporated into ASA2010 Melbourne - we would love to receive your feedback on this year's event so we can ensure ASA2011 Brisbane and future events meet your expectations. Please complete the online survey so we can continue to enhance ASA’s Annual National Conference, the premier education and networking event for sonographers.
