venue

From its familiar symbols of Australian nationhood to its regional wineries and historic townships, Canberra has something special to offer everyone.  Beyond Canberra’s more famous attractions, the city unfolds into a vibrant mix of restaurants, nightclubs, museums and galleries. Growing urban centres are lined with trendy cafes and boutique shopping, while weekend markets overflow with the freshest regional produce and local wines. Walkers and cyclists tackle the trails in the many local parks that wind their way through the city.

One of Australia’s few planned cities, Canberra is a place where architectural style complements the beauty of the surrounding Australian bush. Located on the ancient lands of the traditional owners, the Ngunnawal people, Canberra is thought to derive its name from the Aboriginal word Kamberra or ‘meeting place’.
