Membership is offered in accordance with the Constitution (PDF 153.48 KB) of the Association. Contact the ASA Membership Officer or download the membership application form (PDF 309.50 KB) now.
ASA membership is free to student sonographers currently studying accredited programs in Medical Ultrasound in Australia. The programs must be accredited by the Australasian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR) and individual proof of enrolment will be required on submitting your student membership application (PDF 279.92 KB). Student members can also take out optional insurance cover under the ASA’s Professional Indemnity, Legal Benefits and Public Liability Insurance (PDF 156.64 KB). The ASA strongly recommends all sonographers including students protect themselves against risks by holding cover independent of the cover held by their employer.
We recognise the significance of building strong industry partnerships and the role these partnerships play in ensuring businesses can establish long-lasting relationships with sonographers. ASA Corporate members demonstrate their support and committment of the medical sonography community and the positive progression of diagnostic medical sonography. You may be eligible to become a Supporting member if you can demonstrate an active interest in the field of diagnostic medical sonography and support the purposes of the Association. Supporting members would also include those undertaking ultrasound training programs.
Overseas membership is open to those living and working outside of Australia and New Zealand.
We encourage you to view the ASA Constitution and the Code of Professional Conduct before completing the membership application form. All new and renewing members will be required to acknowledge their compliance with this Code as well as the Terms and Conditions of membership as part of the renewal or joining process.
By submitting the membership application form or the student membership application form together with all relevant supporting information, you agree to comply by the rules set out in the ASA Code of Professional Conduct.
